Description

A true British GT icon, this 1969 Jensen Interceptor II combines timeless Italian styling by Carrozzeria Touring with raw V8 power and luxury refinements. One of only nine known in New Zealand, this example is a standout collectors piece.

Finished in brilliant red, which beautifully echoes the original Pimpinal Red, it looks every bit the classic grand tourer. The car has benefited from a $15,000 interior restoration, with trim that presents beautifully and factory air conditioning in working order rare for a car of this era.

Under the bonnet lies the more reliable 6.3 litre V8, said to be more desirable than the later 7.2L, delivering effortless cruising and power. Period-correct details remain intact, including the original tools in the boot and even the original rear shelf boom box speakers, a quirky slice of late-60s character.

Other notable features include:

Four-wheel disc brakes for confident stopping

Electric windows, ahead of its time in 1969

Factory air conditioning operational and effective

Originality preserved in tools, trim, and details

This Interceptor offers the best of both worlds: classic British GT style with American reliability. With its rarity, condition, and provenance, it represents a unique opportunity to own a piece of motoring history that's both usable and collectible.

Imported from the UK in 1978.
